ISTQB Please suggest the correct book

I have appeared in the foundation level exam on feb 4 and scored only 60 %.I did not cleared the exam.I studied from dorothy graham and rex black book.Please suggest me the correct book and the latest addition and method to prepare I am reappearing for the exam on 24 march .

Answer:

There book from Dorothy Graham should be enough for exam preparation.
However I would suggest you to go through ISTQB syllabus and glossary.

Couple of facts first

1. You need basic knowledge of testing in order to appear for the exam
2. Preparation for the exam should be adequate i.e Individual preparation
3. Study ISTQB book by Dorothy Graham, Rex Black at least twice
4. Study ISTQB Syllabus and Glossary at least twice
5. Solve as many question available online, A word of caution : couple of question have consistently marked with incorrect answers and your Study of the ISTQB Book, Syllabus and Glossary should be enough to judge the questions.
6. Join for training if you are unable to prepare by yourself.

Lately the Question in the Foundation level exam, the questions are focused more on Scenarios and  overall it is a bit difficult to solve.
None of the questions which are available online will be in the exam, these questions should be considered for practice only.

Further, there is no hard and fast rule of passing ISTQB.
Read the questions carefully and use the art of elimination to get to the right option.

I am planning to write istqb advanced level exam on April. can any one assist me in geting this rite.

1. can anyone write test manager directly.
2. can we write two exams on same day( test manager,functional analyst)
3. is there any training centers available for advanced level.

I am an MCA fresher 2011 Pass-out with 80.70% from Kolkata. I am interested in Software Testing. While searching through internet, I found ISTQB. I don't know whether it is THE Accrediting body for Software Testing or not, just like as we have Sun Certified SCJP (Globally accepted) and all.

Furthermore, how far this Foundation Level exam can help one to get a job in Software Testing domain in a CMM Level 5 IT Company, keeping in mind that I am not having 60% throughout my academics as I am having 53% in my BSc Math (Hons.) from Calcutta University.

ISTQB ( International Software Testing Qualifications Board) Certification means, you are well aware with software testing terms.

Most of CMM Level 5 IT Company prefers the ISTQB certified test engineers. So this certificate is going to help you to your inception in this field. ISTQB has two types of certification, first one is "Foundation" (which is for life time) and second one is "Advance" (perhaps for 2-3 years).

Percentages matters for few companies, but it will not bound you to move further in this field...

I will suggest you to go for the same (ISTQB) and hope for the best.

 Passing ISTQB is definitely give you an edge. But you need to prepare yourself a lot in getting a job. From job perspective everything depends on market. If market is good no body will ask you about your percentage even its CMM 5. But in case there are not enough jobs in market or market is down then it will be little hard to get into CMM 5. Don't worry about your percentage just keep yourself up to date.

I plan to Enroll the online exam from Mumbai for ISTQB Foundation level. But i am not able to enroll because the link (http://www.istqb.in/Enrollment.php) is breaking means if i select Exam Type as Public and Exam Level as Foundation then its showing error page.

Please help me and let me know if there is any other source or method of Enrollment.

Even i had faced the same issue. This is because of the firewall settings in the office PC. You can give a try in your pesonal laptop it should work.
