The
education department will put up a list of vacancies in every junior
college in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region so that students can apply
offline accordingly once the online admission process is over. The
offline process will begin after July 12, and the college-wise list of
vacancies will likely be displayed on July 14 in the deputy director's
office at Charni Road.
The offline admission process is for those students who are not allotted a seat in the online process, for international board students who get their final mark sheets later, and for Central Board of Secondary Education students who appear for the school-based exam instead of the board exam. However, in the past two years several students who were unhappy with colleges they were allotted in the online process, also rushed to apply offline.

admissions. Saturday was the last day for securing seats for those whose
names had appeared on the second merit list released on Wednesday.
Until Saturday afternoon, 22,110 students who were allotted in the
second round had secured seats.
At St Andrew's College, 120 seats were vacant in all three streams (arts, science, commerce), while at Hinduja College in Charni Road 60 commerce seats were vacant in the aided and unaided sections overall. Ruparel College in Matunga and Jai Hind College at Churchgate also had seats to surrender, though they did not have details of how many.
The third and final online merit list will be declared on July 10. Students will have two days to pay their fees and secure the seat. "The cut-off is likely to drop by one percentage point in each of the streams," said Jyoti Thakur, vice-principal of Jai Hind College.
