Avoid the mind-numbing depression and deal with crisis without wasting further time

Tremors and aftershocks
Avoid the mind-numbing depression and deal with crisis without wasting further time

There's an adage about not crying over spilt milk that becomes a survival mantra among college students after the exam results. It's like being in a 'Nightmare on Elm Street' when you learn that you have flunked in a couple of subjects in the first semester exams.
However, being 'allowed to keep terms' (ATKT as its mostly referred to) offers a solution to escape from this nightmare. You get a second chance to pass in those subjects. Usually this facility is given to those degree college students who fail in maximum two subjects but are promoted to the next semester.
The ATKT rules vary so do confirm the parameters followed by the institution where you study. Dont dwell on the lost marks, just relax and try to make the most of this opportunity by gearing up for the ATKT exams.

Prepare your exam kit
The first thing you need to do is collect and cross check notes of the subjects you need to focus on. Get them from your friends, find out what you have been missing out on.

Friends turn teachers
Remember the Friends serial theme song 'I'll be there for you?' When you have difficulty and doubts regarding any topic, as your friends to come to the rescue. Those who have scored well in the exams can explain concepts and make it simple for you to understand them.

Grasp the pattern
After having all the notes in hand, one needs to check out the paper pattern and the kind of questions that have appeared in last few years in the ATKT exams. This will help in understanding the format and preparing for them in a much better manner.

Balancing act
It's noticed that usually the ATKT exams are neck to neck with the following semester exams. They are either just 10 days prior to them or immediately afterwards. Hence, it is advisable to start preparing for ATKT right away and simultaneously start studying the topics of next semester subjects as they are explained during college lectures. This will help lessen the burden during both the exams.

Prepare pointers
Once you have finished going through your notes its better to have pointers of all the topics at hand, so you can skim through them a day prior to your exams and save time.
