Engg seats allotted to 22,752 in CAP Round II

The allotment of Common Admission Process (CAP) Round II of the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) run engineering admissions was declared on Thursday.
A total of 22,752 candidates were allotted seats in this round. Their admissions will start from tomorrow and continue till August 6.
With this, 2,835 of the total applicants for the DTE-run CAP for engineering admissions remain without allotments. However, there is no reason for panic as the approximate number of available seats is much higher than the number of applicants without allotments. There will be at least 33,748 seats available for admissions in CAP Round III which is combined with the counselling round and is scheduled to start from August 10.
“However, we should not forget that this is a tentative figure. There might be a rise in the number of available seats if all 22,752 candidates do not approach us for admissions. At the same time, there will be an increase in the number of admission seekers in the counselling round as well. There will be more candidates participating in that round - such as those from other states, those who made mistakes in filling forms or could not participate in the CAP,” said a DTE official.
He added, “Considering the admissions of CAP Round I, not all candidates are likely to take admission on allotted seats. However the exact number of available seats for the counselling round will be declared on August 8, after admissions for CAP Round II are over.”
